cfChat

For more information, to see the chat in action or purchase the source code, go to the cfChat web site cfchat.net.

cfChat is a real time Web based chat application. It is built in ColdFusion and does not require any Java applets.

cfChat runs in the ColdFusion server memory and does not use a database, which makes it fast, stable and capable of handling many concurrent users.

The latest release 5.51 comes in two editions - Flash&HTML and HTML. The difference between them is that the first one has Flash and HTML interfaces communicating with the chat engine. The Flash front-end also provides higher browser compatibility, is quite flexible in terms of layout design and allows different skins to be set up.

The HTML edition has an HTML interface and is fully contained in the HTML&Flash edition.

Main features of cfChat include:

  • Flash and HTML interfaces
  • Fully multi-language enabled
  • English, German and Italian languages
  • Easy integration with an existing user database
  • Automatic chat logging facility
  • Multiple chat login forms
  • Private and public rooms
  • Possibility to change nicknames, being away with an away message
  • Possibility to change rooms
  • Private chats
  • Possibility to ignore other users in the chat
  • Possibility to create personal message boxes and leave messages on the server to other chat users
  • Support of commands like /nick, /room, /msg, /clear, /ignore, and others
  • Customisable colours of interface elements.

cfChat comes with an administration system for:

  • Changing the chat settings
  • Defining how many windows a user can open
  • Banning users by ID address or UUID
  • Starting and stopping the chat
  • Setting a list of unacceptable words
  • Viewing the chat logs.
